U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to offer free vessel safety checks on July 7 – OBX Today

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering free vessel safety checks for recreational boats of all kinds on Friday, July 7, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Town of Manteo public docks.

Boat owners will receive a vessel safety check decal recognized by all government agencies. In addition to power and sail boats, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will inspect and discuss safety issues for kayaks and other paddlecraft.

Those who offer their boats for a vessel safety check will be also be entered in a drawing fora free hang gliding lesson for two courtesy of Kitty Hawk Kites.
