Due to poor road conditions on N.C. Highway 12 caused by inclement weather, Dare County Public Works has announced that the Buxton Transfer Station will close early today, Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
The station will remain open until the boxes have been filled, at which time operations will then cease because additional trucks will be unable to travel to the station to empty the boxes until road conditions improve.
Dare County Public Works currently expects normal operations and services at the Buxton Transfer Station to resume on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
