Areas of heavy rainfall will bring the potential for minor flooding to poor drainage areas Friday night, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.
A few severe thunderstorms will be possible, especially along the coast.
Strong winds could blow around light unsecured objects and cause isolated power outages. Winds gusts of 40-50 mph along the coast. Peak winds will be Friday night into Saturday morning (southerly) and again Saturday night into Sunday evening (northerly).
Coastal impacts include Minor to moderate coastal flooding likely (soundside and oceanside). Ocean overwash, rough surf and beach erosion also possible. Impacts will linger into Monday along the coast.
Dangerous marine conditions are expected across all waterways.
There is still some uncertainty with the track and strength of the low, which will have an impact on the risk of severe weather, where the heaviest rainfall occurs, as well as the magnitude and duration of the strongest winds. For further forecast updates, visit https://www.weather.gov/mhx/.
