Twiford Funeral Homes celebrates record-breaking donation drive for Operation Toy Soldier – OBX Today

The Outer Banks and Northeastern North Carolina Twiford Funeral Homes, a dedicated supporter of the local military community, is thrilled to announce the tremendous success of their holiday toy drive, Operation Toy Soldier.

Through the unwavering support of local businesses, individuals, and the incredible communities that surround us, a record-breaking 4,200 toys were donated this holiday season. This outstanding achievement brings the total number of toys collected and distributed through Operation Toy Soldier to over 19,200, spreading smiles and joy to countless young faces in our region.

Since 2012, Twiford Funeral Homes has been actively involved in making Christmas brighter for the children of active duty and military veterans of the Armed Forces through the impactful program, Operation Toy Soldier. The overwhelming support and generosity of our community have made a profound difference, demonstrating the true spirit of unity and compassion within our region.

This year’s toy drive surpassed all expectations, with the generous donations of toys from local businesses, individuals, and community organizations. The outpouring of support has brought immeasurable joy to the lives of the local children, strengthening the bond within our community and reminding us of the importance of giving back.

Twifords would like to extend a special thank you to the business that so generously served as donation drop-off locations; Air-Tight Storage, Inc, American Legion Post 126, American Legion Post 288, Edward Jones – Andy Elliott, Edward Jones – Christopher Barcliff, Edward Jones – Doug Bates, Edward Jones – Jason Guill, Elizabeth City Fire Department Station 1 and 2, Fountain of Life Church, Holy Redeemer by the Sea Catholic Church, Island Pharmacy, Mulligan’s Grille, Outer Banks Family YMCA, Pasquotank Co. Sheriff’s Office, Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church, and VFW Post 6060.
