College of The Albemarle (COA) recently held its graduation and challenge coin ceremony for the Paramedic Class of 2022. Presentation of challenge coins, similar to pins presented for other medical programs, provides the opportunity to recognize students for excellence.

We recognized twelve students for successfully completing all paramedic program requirements. Requirements include a minimum of 1000 hours of training, including lectures, labs, hospital clinical and field time with area Emergency Medical Services. Students were from the following counties: Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank and Perquimans.

For more information on the paramedic program, contact Walter Meads, COA Assistant Professor/Program Coordinator, Emergency Medical Science, at 252.335.0821 ext. 2519 or walter_meads@albemarle.edu.
