College of The Albemarle (COA) is pleased to announce two health science programs recently celebrated a 100% first-attempt pass rate for their credentialing exams. Associate Degree Nursing (A.D.N.) graduates achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Medical Laboratory Technology (M.L.T.) graduates achieved a 100% first-attempt pass rate on the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) M.L.T. certification exam.
Students must pass the required exam to receive their license or certification as registered nurses or certified medical lab techs; however, they must first meet all the required competencies for their program and graduate before being able to take the exam.
“We are incredibly proud of our 2024 graduates in both the A.D.N. and M.L.T. programs,” said Robin Harris. Achieving a 100% first-time pass rate on their licensure exams speaks to the dedication of our students and the excellence of our faculty. These graduates are prepared to step into their roles as healthcare professionals, making a vital impact on our community’s health and wellness.”
President Jack Bagwell said, “Congratulations to the A.D.N. and M.L.T. graduates of 2024. Their hard work and success not only reflect their personal commitment but also the outstanding education and support provided by COA. The 100% pass rate is a testament to our mission of preparing healthcare professionals who are ready to meet the needs of our region. We look forward to seeing the positive difference you will make in healthcare.”
