On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Town of Duck premiered the mini-documentary, “Winged Horses of the Outer Banks” and introduced the newest addition to the Duck Town Park: Mallard, the Stallion of Duck. In addition, the documentary is now officially available for viewing on popular video-sharing platform, YouTube.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, including Linda Lauby, the creator of the original Winged Horse Extravaganza art installation, Chris Winter, CEO of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, and Meg Puckett with special guest Riptide!

Mallard is located in the Town Park next to the picnic gazebo. He features 104 different images portraying the history of Duck, wildlife in Duck, events in Duck, essentially, all things Duck! Volunteers in the community joined in to leave their mark on the horse, making Mallard a true community project.

Each image is numbered which accompanies an image description in an index. This index lists the image title, the painter, and an image description. Stay tuned for an interactive website that has all of this information and more! For now, you can access the index by following this link: https://bit.ly/4evvhoH
