Women’s rights rally to be held June 23 at Dowdy Park – OBX Today

A rally for women’s rights, sponsored by the Dare County Democratic Party, the Democratic Women of Dare, and Indivisible OBX, is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Dowdy Park.

The event aims to bring together advocates, activists, and community members to champion women’s rights and discuss critical issues facing women in North Carolina and beyond on the eve of the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Confirmed speakers for the rally include:

  • Susan Harman-Scott: Candidate for NC Senate District 1
  • Senator Natasha Marcus: Candidate for NC Insurance Commissioner
  • The Rev. Dr. Michelle Lewis
  • Judge Linda McGee: Former Chief Judge of the NC Court of Appeals
  • Janice Robinson: NC Program Director, Red Wine & Blue
  • Susan Sawin: Dare County Democratic Party Chair and candidate for NC House District 1
