Showers and scattered thunderstorms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front Wednesday. Several of these storms could become strong to severe.
The National Weather Service says the risk is expected to occur in the late morning through late afternoon. The severe threat diminishes after 6 p.m. The most likely area for severe weather is along and west of a line from Jacksonville to New Bern to Columbia.
The strongest storms will bring the threat for strong wind gusts, though isolated large hail is also possible (up to quarter size).
