The League Lunch & Learn Public Program: Human Trafficking will feature Stephanie Benton, Resource Coordinator at Beloved Haven in Elizabeth City, NC. With over 12 years of experience in Juvenile Court Diversion Programs in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia, Stephanie will shed light on the issue of human trafficking specifically on the Outer Banks.
Human trafficking and sexual exploitation affect our community, and the League encourages its members and the public to attend this eye-opening event. Stephanie Benton will share stories that unveil the hidden crime occurring within our own neighborhoods. Human trafficking exploits society’s most vulnerable, using force, fraud, or coercion to trap victims into labor or commercial sexual exploitation.
The featured speaker, Stephanie Benton, has dedicated her career to education and outreach in Juvenile Court Diversion Programs. She currently serves as Resource Coordinator at Beloved Haven.
