On Saturday, October 21st, thousands of Outer Banks visitors and locals gathered at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head for the 11th annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival, proudly presented by Townebank, the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, Wawa, Vacasa, and Vista Graphics.

The mission of the Outer Banks Seafood Festival is to provide a fun and educational experience promoting, honoring and celebrating our coastal seafood heritage and community.

Festival go-ers, amazing vendors, and many, many volunteers were greeted by warm sunshine, a gorgeous view of the Roanoke Sound, and the October breeze that the Outer Banks is so famous for.

The following restaurants presented delicious and creative seafood dishes at the festival:

  • Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café
  • Dirty Dick’s Crab House – Avon
  • Dirty Dick’s Crab House – Nags Head
  • Firehouse Boil
  • Harbor Grill
  • Jolly Roger Restaurant
  • Mahi Mahi Island Grill
  • Shipwreck’s Taphouse & Grill
  • Steamers
  • Street Eats Latin Fusion

These restaurants competed for two awards: People’s Choice (crowd votes) and Judge’s Choice (blind tasting), and Jolly Roger Restaurant, founded in 1972, took home both!

In addition to delectable Outer Banks cuisine, festival attendees enjoyed a variety of retail and artisan vendors, tasty beverages, and a glimpse into the life of an Outer Banks commercial fisherman in the Fishing Village area of the festival. Betsy Robinson and the Sisters of the Soul, Pier Pressure, The Patriots Band, The Daniel Jordan Band, and headliner Celeste Kellogg kept the crowd shaking and grooving and entertained throughout the event.

The 12th annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival will again be held at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head, North Carolina. Save the date: October 19, 2024. We hope you’ll join us for great food and a great time celebrating the Outer Banks region’s timeless seafood heritage.
