Take advantage of the medicare open enrollment period; Medicare 101 class offered October 26 – OBX Today

Each year, the Medicare Open Enrollment Period is held from October 15 to December 7, and if you are a Medicare client, you are encouraged to review your Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plan during this period to ensure you have the most cost-effective and appropriate plan for you and to make any necessary changes.

The Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills, the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo and the Fessenden Center in Buxton serve as local Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) offices, and knowledgeable staff members are available to assist with any Medicare-related questions you may have. The Baum Senior Center, which is located at 300 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills, is currently scheduling appointments, and if you have not recently had a review of your Medicare plan, you are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 252-475-5635.

Individuals who are new to Medicare are also encouraged to attend a Medicare 101 class that will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center, which is located at 950 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo. This class will provide an assortment of useful information designed to help you navigate the Medicare enrollment process. To register for this free class, please call the Virginia S.
