The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) is holding their 26th Annual Charity Surf Fishing Tournament on Friday, October 13th at the Bonnett Street access in Nags Head. The event benefits the Association’s Disaster Relief and Scholarship Funds held with the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Last year, the Association raised over $7,000 for the funds thanks to pre-event and day-of raffle tickets.
The event is open to all. Register your $300, 6-person team for this fun event today! Last year OBAR had a record 25 teams and is hoping to have even more teams this year. Check-in begins at 6:30A, with the morning fishing session starting at 7:00A and continuing until 11:00A. Lunch will be held from 11:15A until 12:30P, and the afternoon session is from 12:30-3:30P. Raffle prizes follow immediately afterwards. Your team registration includes Krispy Krème donuts with coffee, High Cotton BBQ lunch, snacks, beverages, and swag filled buckets.
Prizes include $600 for 1st place, $300 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place. Once again, there will be a $150 cash prize for the biggest fish.

Last year, Guaranteed Bait, captained by Brendan Medlin, plucked not only the 1st place prize, but also the biggest fish award. Who will win this year? Join OBAR on the 13th to find out! As with previous years, there are tons of raffle prizes up for grabs at the end of the tournament. Tickets are available the day of the event: 1 for $5 or 5 tickets for $20.
The surf fishing tournament is part of OBAR’s annual series of charity events, “Surf, Turf, and Roll”. In addition to the surf fishing tournament, the association sponsors a Bowling Tournament and a Golf Tournament. The Bowling Tournament is held in March and the Golf Tournament is held in June.
