Cold front to move through Friday evening


The National Weather Service has reported that a cold front will move through Eastern North Carolina tonight with strong winds expected between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning, minor coastal impacts, and a conditional thunderstorm risk.

Water level are expected to rise up to 1 ft above ground level possible for the soundside of the Outer Banks, north of Hatteras. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph could cause scattered tree and power line damage, and possibly a few power outages.
