Mulligan’s owners Gus Zinovus and Shannon Moody have announced they have sold the iconic Nags Head restaurant and bar to Colin Wiseman, a restaurant owner from Charleston, South Carolina.

“We want to thank everyone for their 25 years of support and we are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives which will include lots of travel,” the former owners noted.

Zinovus and Moody also wanted to reassure their long-time customers that the new owner plans to operate Mulligan’s as before—with no changes in staff, menu or restaurant theme and concept.

Wiseman currently operates Oscar’s restaurant in Summerville, SC and the new owner plans to relocate to the Outer Banks.

Gus and Shannon will remain in the area and will continue to operate the Snow Bird Drive-In in Nags Head along the Beach Road.

Long-time residents and visitors to the Outer Banks will remember the original Mulligan’s, located on the Beach Road in Nags Head, which opened in 1986.

The small location built up a regular local’s crowd and served simple fare for lunch and dinner. Mulligan’s moved to their new location in 2006. Bad Barracuda’s had occupied the spot until Zinovus purchased the location.

Over the years he added more deck and bar space turning it into one of most popular destinations for lunch, dinner, and enjoying views of the ocean from the expansive decks.

Operations will be uninterrupted during the changeover.
