Second suspect arrested in Elizabeth City triple murder that killed Manteo mother, daughter

A second Elizabeth City man is now facing charges in connection with the shooting deaths of three people earlier this month that included a mother and daughter from Roanoke Island.

Takeyia De’Shay Berry, 39, and Allura Pledger, 3, both of Manteo, and Jaquan Tobias White, 18, of Elizabeth City died, and three men from Elizabeth City were injured, in a shooting that took place in the 500 block of Perry and Jordan streets on December 2.

Terence Tyrone Seymore, 37, was arrested Tuesday in New Bern after a collaborative effort between the Elizabeth City Police Department, United States Marshall Services Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.

Seymore is charged with three counts of Murder, two counts of assault with a deadly Weapon with intent to kill, and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury. He was being held in lieu of $1,001,000 bond at the Albemarle District Jail.

The other suspect in the case, Ricky Lewis Etheridge, Jr., 34, of Elizabeth City, was arrested on December 16 in Norfolk and is scheduled to be transported to North Carolina by early February after he waved an extradition hearing last week.
