The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) REALTORS® is excited to announce that member Stephanie Walker, of Stephanie Walker & Associates, was recently recognized as the Educator of the Year by both the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association (NCREEA), and the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA).

“It truly is an honor to be recognized as Educator of the Year on both the state and national levels,” Walker said.

“Knowing that letters of recommendation came nationally and not just locally is what matters most,” said Walker. “There are so many outstanding educators in this country and the fact that they took the time to recommend me is amazing.”

“There are so many real estate educators out there, for someone from the Outer Banks to be recognized by not only the state, but the national level of real estate educators is quite the accomplishment and truly speaks to Stephanie’s dedication to professional development for REALTORS®,” OBAR President Doug Brindley said.

This is not the first time that Walker has been recognized by both associations.

In 2019, she was awarded Program of the Year by both NCREEA and REEA for her course, “Risky Business…Doing it Right”. Said Walker,

“It’s very exciting to have the class recognized and win the award for Classroom Program of the Year for both North Carolina nd nationally,” Walker said. “This course leads us into conversations about things we normally don’t think about. How do we keep ourselves and our client’s information safe? We have to be vigilant to keep our data and the personal information of our clients safe.”

Walker, trained in both REALTOR® and Superior Court Mediation, has been a member of OBAR since 1987, serving as President in 2002.

She has also served as President of NC REALTORS® in 2011 and has received the REALTOR® of the Year awards from both local and state associations, the OBAR Career Achievement award, and was twice presented the NCR Presidents award among many others.

She is active in local, state, and national association committees. In addition to her “Risky Business…Doing it Right” course, Walker also teaches Professional Standards, Procedures and Process, Ethics, License Law, the NCREC annual update courses, GRI classes, REALTOR® Mediation, Ombudsman Training, and Leadership Training while still being a full time REALTOR®.

Most recently she was elected to be a director of the National Association of REALTORS® for the second time in a row.
