National Night Out celebrations planned in Nags Head, Manteo

National Night Out celebrations are taking place Tuesday evening in Nags Head and Manteo.

The 38th Annual National Night Out in Nags Head takes place at Dowdy Park on Aug. 3 at 5 p.m.

More from the town:

This is our opportunity each year to promote police-community partnerships and engage with the public. National Night Out helps to bring back a sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

There will be bounce house, a dunking booth (yes, you read that correctly!), a seatbelt simulator and other various vendors and kids activities. The police department will also be providing food for the event. Hope to see you all there!

National Night Out also returns to the Town of Manteo Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at Cartwright Park on Bideford Street adjacent to the Keeper Richard Etheridge Statue and Pea Island Cookhouse Museum.

More from the town:

It will be an afternoon of food, family, and fun!  Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided by the Wanchese Lion’s Club, and there will be games and activities for all ages, including face painting, close encounters with safety personnel and equipment, K9 demonstrations, and much more.  Joining in the fun will be other local groups, such as Outer Banks Hotline, NC Marine Patrol, OBX Martial Arts, and the Pea Island Preservation Society.  Add Roanoke Island Volunteer Fire Department and any others if they have confirmed being there.

National Night Out is a “national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships.” Together we can continue to make our communities safe and caring places to live.

Join us at this great Town of Manteo sponsored event on Tuesday, August 3rd from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Cartwright Park!
