Outer Banks Hotline executive director Michael Lewis retiring

Outer Banks Hotline has announced that its executive director, Michael Lewis, has announced his retirement.

Lewis has served Hotline for over 21 years in various capacities. He started as a volunteer in 1999 and rose through the ranks to become Executive Director in 2015.

The Board of Directors is in the process of commencing a search for a new executive director. Details and the timeline for the search have not been established yet, but Hotline will provide those details once finalized.

Hotline is a charitable non-profit organization that was established in 1980, with a mission is to promote a safe and compassionate community.

The human services organization provides crisis intervention, safe house, information and referrals, advocacy, and prevention education services to residents of and visitors to the Outer Banks.

Outer Banks Hotline’s headquarters is located in Nags Head at 100 E. Dunn Street and has five thrift stores that extend from Kitty Hawk to Rodanthe.
