Driver sought following hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Currituck County

The N.C. Highway Patrol and Currituck County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and left the scene Monday night.

At approximately 9:10 p.m., a hit-and-run was reported along N.C. 34 near the Indiantown Road intersection in Shawboro.

The vehicle involved was possibly a white car that has lower front end damage, according to a post on the Currituck Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

An update on the pedestrian’s condition was not immediately available.
