First Flight High School closed Friday after positive COVID-19 case

One day after Manteo High School closed due to coronavirus cases, Dare County Schools were notified today of a laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 at First Flight High School.

Upon initiation of contact tracing, the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services identified 30 stakeholders who have been identified as direct contacts. These stakeholders will begin quarantining immediately following NC Department of Health and Human Services guidelines.

First Flight High School will be closed tomorrow for all students and staff so that the district safety team can deep cleanse and sanitize the entire building.

First Flight High School will reopen on Monday, Nov. 9.
