Wind gust of 57 mph reported at Alligator River Bridge as Zeta remnants moved through

The National Weather Service recorded wind gusts up to 57 mph on the Outer Banks this afternoon as the former Hurricane Zeta raced through North Carolina and Virginia. A coastal flood advisory remains in effect for all of Outer Banks through 2 a.m. Saturday.

The Newport/Morehead City NWS forecast office reported the following wind gusts Thursday:

MANTEO, 54 MPH, 2:15 p.m.
OREGON INLET, 48 MPH, 3:52 p.m.
KILL DEVIL HILLS, 37 MPH, 4:15 p.m.
KHK RESORT, Hatteras, 52 MPH, 3:36 p.m.
AVON, 47 MPH, 3:59 p.m.
FRISCO, 43 MPH, 2:32 p.m.
BUXTON, 40 MPH, 3:27 p.m.

Maritime station wind gusts:
ALLIGATOR RIVER BR, 57 MPH, 2:47 p.m.
DUCK PIER, 55 MPH, 3:18 p.m.
CAPE HATTERAS LIGHTHOUSE, 54 MPH, 3 p.m.
AVON SOUND, 48 MPH, 3:31 p.m
JENNETTES PIER, 48 MPH, 3:37 p.m.
