Manteo’s Town Hall will be closed until Monday for disinfecting, after someone who tested positive for COVID-19 had recently been in the first floor of the building on Budleigh Street.

Town Manager James Ayers said all services will continue to be delivered as usual, and all other town facilities will remain open.

It was not announced whether the positive coronavirus test was in a worker or someone who visited Town Hall.

“The Town of Manteo’s highest priority is the health, safety, and welfare of community members, staff and other stakeholders,” Ayers said.

“We are taking these necessary steps in accordance with our Incident Action Plan, and this approach allows us to ensure continuity of government while maintaining delivery of critical services to the community,” Ayers said.

Although Manteo Town Hall staff will be operating remotely, you can still contact front desk staff using the main number at (252) 473-2133, or visit manteonc.gov for a complete listing of services.
