An area of disturbed weather southwest of Bermuda now has a 40 percent chance of becoming a tropical depression by the end of the week. But at this point, the National Weather Service said it does not expect big impacts on our area.

“… We don’t expect this to drastically change much whether or not this system becomes a depression,” the NWS said.

Through the weekend, expect unsettled conditions with periods of heavy rain, an elevated risk of rip currents and breezy conditions on the Outer Banks. The weather service said areas of heavy rain may produce poor drainage flooding.
