A Kitty Hawk man faces between 10 years and life in federal prison after pleading guilty Thursday to a charge of conspiring to distribute cocaine.
According to court documents, Herndon Hunt Outlaw Riddle, III, 40, conspired with co-defendant Adolphus McClain to distribute five kilograms of cocaine.
McClain previously pleaded guilty to the same charge and is awaiting sentencing. Riddle will be sentenced on September 8.
Robert J. Higdon, Jr., U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, made the announcement after U.S. Magistrate Judge James E. Gates accepted the plea.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations, the United States Marshals Service, the North Carolina Department of Insurance, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office and the Kitty Hawk Police Department assisted in the investigation.
