College of The Albemarle has announced it will begin its spring break immediately, starting Monday, March 16 and lasting through Sunday, March 22.
The change in schedule is necessary because of Gov. Roy Cooper’s order closing all public school systems across the state, according to COA spokesperson Jenna Hatfield.
The community college provides online and in-person instruction to many high school students in its service territory, with some of those classes also including COA students.
Students and staff are asked to monitor their college email accounts and visit www.albemarle.edu for further updates.
