Low advance ticket sales have led to the cancellation of the three OBX Taste of the Beach major group events that were to be held the last weekend of March at The Soundside event site in Nags Head.

That includes the Flashback Friday on March 27, the BBQ and Wing Showdown on March 28 and the Grand Tasting and Bartender’s Bubbly Bash on March 29.

Members in attendance at the Outer Banks Restaurant Association’s monthly meeting voted unanimously to call off the three events.

“The decision was made in consultation with the Outer Banks Visitor’s Bureau, sponsor for the event, and primarily based on the uncertainty of adequate attendance to cover the costs associated with hosting events at The Soundside,” according to a statement on the OBX Taste of the Beach website.

Refunds will be provided for those who purchased tickets to the cancelled events.

The more than 40 other events at restaurants along the Outer Banks are still on as scheduled over the four-day food and wine festival. Details can be found at https://www.obxtasteofthebeach.com/.
